]]> Gabriel Rivera joined Viking in February 2025 as an assistant to Elda Rotor. Born and raised in NYC, he graduated from CUNY Baruch College with a degree in journalism and political science. Before Penguin, Gabriel was an assistant director for an after-school program, where he was able to pursue his passion for education. His interests include literary fiction (primarily 20th century Latin American literature), short stories, and longform narrative journalism, as well as anything that is experimental, metaphysical, or surreal.
